Traveling at the speed of...a snail

Somehow, Verizon has managed to turn off my DSL connection due to an error they made. I have been trying for three days to get it straightened out but no luck yet
So, in the meantime I am using AOL dial up. Wow! I am soooo impressed! NOT! I cannot believe that things can move so slowly. It takes sometimes several minutes to load a single page on the net.
So, I shall not be online much while I wait for Verizon to get their act together and give me back my speedy DSL. After this snail like dial up I'm sure that my DSL will seem like a rocket ship

Well when you wake you will be pleased to know when our dsl starts kicking in.
(I myself think it is safer and easier to leave the tv to the company and the phone to the phone company, lol. Where are the internet experts, it is not aol but I still enjoy it anyhow.)

Ha, remember when anything faster than a 14.4 k modem seemed like light speed?

You got your desires. I am very distracted. In order to get my DSL back, Verizon made me sign up as a brand new user
This was all well and good until a few hours after getting off the phone with Verizon. Now, I not only do not have DSL, I also do not have my main email address

Hey fwidman! I hear ya! I remember the days of AOL dialup! It
was a horror! I don't know how I was able to exist with it!
It really was turtle slow! You are right about getting your
DSL back! It will feel like a rocket! It is so terrible how
these companies have us so whipped! We just get used to them
and addicted and then can't live without them! They are so
mean! They just know how to keep us! I hate Cablevision!
They are my Internet Connection that I just can't live without!
They also take care of my Phone and TV so they really have me
hooked! (Excuse the pun!) And it sure isn't punny!

I agree, Opal. Seems like these companies put us in a vise and they just squeeze away to their hearts content
I am thankful that I don't have everything under one provider or I might really be going crazy right now. It's strange that the DSl can't get fixed yet I have the telephone (same line) and it works just fine. How odd

Hi fwidman...and I know what you mean. Dial-up is the only thing I am offered unless I want to spend $50-$70 a month for the hughes satellite internet.
I mean I sure can't afford that so I travel with the cyber snail all the time and I guess if it is all you have known then you don't miss what you don't have.
I hear talk all the time about high speed and how fast it is an all and here I sit waiting most of the time to try and get things to load. it takes me forever to get through my e-mail and then to answer discussions on mylot...I almost have to be on around the clock...LOL
So if you ever read anything from me that doesn't make any since at all it is because I am probably pulling an all nighter to get caught up...LOL

Welcome to MY world. I am stuck with dialup unless I want to spend ove $50/mo for satellite high speed. SLOW isn't it? Certainly teaches me patience, that's for sue. *sigh*
I hope you get your rocket ship back soon.

When I only had the option of dial up I was okay with it. But, after DSL for so many years, I really do not have the patience for it. There are a lot of websites that I will not go to visit until I get my DSL back. It's just too painful to try to watch the pages attempt to load
