Fathers, How did they affect your life both in a positive or negative way?

a day with Dad - whether a dad is near or far or we are not sure they still exist... the fact still remains. They influence us in one way or another.

This Father's day, again we will be celebrating the man of our lives! However, we can't help but ask ourselves, what is it about the man that he impacts our lives so much?A friend of mine didn't see his father until he was past 30 years old. For him, its like living a life with one piece of the puzzle missing. There was a never ending curiousness as to how did he look like, what does he like to do and the million dollar question, why did he left and not come back. Today, he realized he is not very masculine in many ways and there was a feeling of insecurity that keeps on looming around him because of an absentee father. Another friend, a beautiful woman, had an adulterous dad that come and go in their house and in her life. She was mad at him growing up. But as an adult now, she finds herself attracted to the same kind of man again and again and never seem to have the power to reject them. A Collegue I know have a very loving and supportive dad. They are very close and he is like a friend to her. Looking back, she pay credit to that special bond with his father for now having a healthy and loving relationship with her husband. She said she was not tempted to jump into any man who courted her without looking to his dad for advice or even just for comparison. My niece is a 2 year old young girl. When his dad come home every weekend from work, I tell you he will not be able to go anywhere without the little steps following her or calling his name. How about you? How did your relationship with your dad affected your decisions and lifestyle even until now? I shared mine in my article O PAPA... you can check it out too.
