Do asthma patients have to take asthalin(inhaler) life long?

i have suffering from asthma since i was 1 year old. it got treatment for a while, the doctors prescribed asthalin. i take that whenever i find difficult to breathe. im allergic to cold weather, pets, tomato, ice cream, chocolates, smoke. Running and walking too fast also triggers asthma. these things cant be avoided in everyday life. For some people when they reach adulthood, they get cured of asthma, but i m not cured yet. is there a cure? or just take inhaler whenever i get asthma. i really wish i got healed from this disease. i m not able to eat or do anything with this cruel disease. thanks for the response in advance
