Will you buy GM vehicles?

Ownership may change, but GM vehicles will be OK to buy and trust as always.

I stopped buying GM vehicles when they dropped the firebird line of cars. I had been an avid driver of firebirds for years. When they stopped production, I stopped even looking at GM vehicles. Personally, I think that the big 3 automakers dropping the muscle cars and/or turning the old muscle cars like the charger into 4 door cars was the start of their downfall. Back in the 70's, cars had the sporty muscle look, firebird, camaro's, challengers, chargers, etc. Thats when the babyboomers were young and wanted a car that looked 'cool'. the babyboomers grew up, had families and had to forego the sports car for station wagons, mini vans, etc. Once the kids were grown and gone to make their own way in the world, the baby boomer parents could afford to buy the new version of cars that they drove in their teens. Where are those cars today? Gone or turned into 4 door vehicles. not much of a sporty look is found in todays cars. GM finally got their head out of their butts and brought back the camaro as did ford with the mustang, but it was a little too late. If the auto industry wants to make it in this world, they should bring back new versions of the old muscle cars and make them the 'retro' look. Until they do that, everyone will be looking elsewhere like toyota, honda's etc. It's a shame really. With 'big' Ed Whittacre being appointed head of GM, they will survive. He is a good one for downsizing and cutting costs. I know. I saw this when he was with at&t. It will take a few years perhaps but he will get them back on their feet. If he wants to make 'really great' with the company, he'll have them start designing cars with a more 70's sports look than the terrible looking garbage they are putting out today. When he does that, he'll have me back as a customer!
