How do you make friends with your sister-in-law?

I think you need always start chat with her. from the beginning maybe it's hard and maybe your sister-in-law not responding but after several time you start it maybe she can accept it and will respond it. Remember to say please and thank you always Don't just assume now that you are art of the family legally that your new sister-in-law accepts you as you are.

My suggestion is that you guys find something to do together instead of chatting about nothing all day. Such as playing game, shopping or watch TV show. After you've done something together, you'll be able to find something to talk about.

The first thing you must do is to gain her confidence. She is still a relative newcomer to your home, so she will have her share of shyness and fear to open up. The best way to gain her confidence is to reavel your inner secrets to her. This will make her feel that you trust her by confiding your most closely guarded secrets. She will in all probability reveal her's too. This will open the flood gates for more open discussions. Try this and see.

If you are both just naturally quiet and not just shy around each other, find something else to do. What do you normally do all day? Read, internet, watch tv? What does she do all day? If you have no idea, ask your brother. Your brother can be a good resource to find out what her likes and dislikes are too so you can find a good topic to talk about.
