Have you ever paid Bribery or been Bribed?  |

 I paid bribery once. That was the first time I travelled alone in an over night train. My ticket was not confirmed. My aunty told me to give Rs. 50 to the Ticket Examiner to find a seat for me. When a gave the money to him, he refused in front of everybody. I felt so embarassed.
Now, my mom is trying to get my birth certificate. Till now, she paid Rs. 2500/- as bribery to government officials. God only knows how much more she has pay. All these government people will go to hell. If we don't pay bribery they are delaying the process. They will say 'come after one week' even though they can issue the certificate in one day.
Please share your exprience with bribery.

1.  callarse1 (2885) | 6 months ago |  I cannot say I have been bribed my friend. I haven't really haven't had to do that. We don't have trains that I use at least. And I don't think our government officials would do that with the birth certificate. I actually did have to get another copy. I received it the same day and I didn't have to wait one week! That sounds too long.

 daliaj (2746) | 6 months ago | It is great that your government is well organised and you can get a birth certificate in one day. For me, it took around 3 weeks, but still didnt' get it. I think it will take 10 more days. In my country, we just started using computers, most of the documents are still in big record books. Thanks for the response. | |

Kauthalya, once remarked in a lighter vein about bribe or corruption. He said corruption or misuse of public money is like asking a man with a drop of honey on his tongue not to taste it. He is sooner or later fall for the temptation.

So instead of being too highly principled, lets for the time being follow the saying- 'when in Rome, be like the Romans'. | |

3.  vinslounge (775) | 6 months ago |  Unfortunately, Bribery have become a part and parcel in our Daily life and in some Government office, it has become an integral part of the organisation. It would not be surprising enought even if the Government organisation forms a Bribe commission. The situation is that bad. Fortunately, I have never Bribed anyone nor I have been bribed for any tasks. As I work in a software Firm, there is absolutely no room for the word called Bribery. By God's grace I am getting paid quite good and there is absolutely no need for me to get into the nasty act of Bribery.

I can't do that. If I do that, I will think I will loose the same amount of money by some other way - missing, getting stealed, hospital..some extra expenses. | |

| 4. divkris (763) | 6 months ago |  corruption has become a part of lives and the common main is the most affected party in this whole business. I think we all bribe to get things done faster or to get things done at the first place.
I think i paid "something extra" to get my two wheeler licence - otherwise the authorities involved do not sanction the licence and cook up some dirty excuse to avaoid giving you the licence!
There are many places (govt. offices) where things work only when you give them "extra". Ii is more like if you don't bribe them you cannot survive:S
