Recently my son started scratching his head and we we're joking him that he had lice on his head. A few days ago we started checking his hair and saw a few of them. I got worried because he only started scratching his hair when he went to school, thus it may be from one of his classmates. As a result me and my husband are very worried because he sleeps with us. Now I have gone online to check what are home remedies for head lice. Do you have any suggestions that have worked for you? What stuff did you use at home and how long before the lice are all gone.

I dont know if you can get hold of these things but this is what we do in India 1]Get a lice killing oil, we get lycil here which is to be applied to hair 1 hour before taking a bath in the morning. 2]Coconut oil or oil which has aleo vera, should be applied to hair at night atleast thrice in a week. This would also make his scalp nourished and stronger. 3]Till the time the lice problem is not cured, it would be good to wash his hair after he comes from school.

Hi, These things are horrible little critters very hard to get rid of, however there are a few home remedies that help. I have found buying the lotions etc from the chemists arent that great as they always come back and the prices are a joke. I get a good headlice comb and shampoo my childs hair with any shampoo lather it then comb it through. Rinse then a mix a little vineger watered down with warm water then pour this over there head. covering there eyes of course! Wait awhile comb again. To get rid of any eggs still latched onto the hair I use a hot hair straightner this releases the eggs from the hair causing them to burn. And comb again. Finished Good luck.
