Should Red Hot Chili Peppers number 1?

I am an avid listener to Red Hot Chili Peppers, I have all their CD's. I have been lucky enough to go to two of their amazing concerts. And in the time of listening to Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, etc... I have gotten a certain vibe when listening to RHCP. It is the same vibe I get when I hear great music. So should RHCP be up there with the greatest?

When i listen to some of their songs I get a real mellow feeling; just like when i listen to Jimi hendrix, Pink floyd, Metallica, and some other great bands. Is it just me or do their words paint a vivid picture in your head about the world and its state?

As I write this I am listening to Under The Bridge, to me one of their greatest out. And I too play guitar, I have a couple songs out; but where did they get these amazing rifts and these words that flow like water through a creek.

I don't want to drag this out, but I can easily put Red Hot Chili Peppers up there with Clapton... can you?
