Now a days people think Girl friend or boy friend means lover i dont know why this word girl friend is used for lover. Why girl friend can be a girl as a friend?
Far as I know this has always been that way.
You have to explain that she/he is not your lover, just a friend or people will think she/he is your lover. That has been that way since I can remember.
