The hero of the street vendors is announcing his plan to run for presidency, in the coming election. Bayani Fernando, known as the "berdugo ng lansangan" who will demolish squatters, beating up street vendors, cut urban trees and many complains against him from the human right commission.
I don't think if he is the bet of the administration for presidency. There is speculation that PGMA, approved him to be the standard bearer of the administration.
There are many aspirant but Bayani Fernando, have high hope that he win the presidential election and became the next president of the Philippines.
Do you want Bayani Fernando, as the next president of the Philippines.
Is he qualified enough to rule the country? Who are here want Bayani Fernando, as next president?

Although I am in the US, I do know that there is much political unrest at this time in the Philippines. My hope and prayer for you and all the people in your beautiful country is that you will be able to elect a president, whoever it is, that will put the interest of the people first and not seek only selfish things or personal power.
My best to you and your country!

just want to say thanks again for your opinion about this discussion. Yup! I hope so, that my country is select a good President like Obama. It is really that our country is facing many problems that politicians don't like to make solutions on it because they are all busy uplifting their own personal life. All politicians here down to local executive is richer far beyond than those executive of the big companies.

That seems to be the way it is in many countries, and I think it is a sad sad thing. Where is their sense of humanity??

I don't think he is that qualified. He still lacks a lot of things. Even he has done some things, he hasn't yet that polished it.
And besides, I don't want Philippines official color to be pink.

I believe the "hero" you mentioned is an understatement. While he has the political will, to clean the streets of vendors, I am not sure he is likely to win. He had been a villain in the eyes of the public more so the vendors. It is not so much what he wants our country to be, for I believe he has good intentions. But I think the manner in which he does his duty is questionable. We do not want a man with an iron hand running the country.

But he is boastfully announce that he is the most qualified candidates for presidency? If you see him, for any interview about his plan to run for president. He is not deny it, but proud to tell that he is the most qualified and have a good effective governance to rule the country?
He has also strong believe that President Arroyo, pick him as the standard bearer of the administrations this coming election...? Can we say "Mabuhay" because this person is a hero of the street vendors?

Did you mean that Bayani, is not a God, fearing person? He always reiterated that he is the best person to be the next president. He humbly state that on some T.V. station that qualification at his shoulder. No one qualified but him. He is very much happy for the accomplishment he had in the Metro Manila Deveopment Authority, as chairman. Isn't that enough that his accomplishment to destitute people mostly poor, is the basis for this person to run as president. What if he is the person, to throw away the peasant in the place where they live as animals. That he is doing...in the street. He's policy is not place for poor...
