Do you ever need to backup your data from time to time in case of viruses, reformatting etc?
I know I do especially from my thumb drive as it has corrupted in the past and I have lost all of my work. Now I make a backup on my home computer as well.
How do you store important data?
I have used online storage, burning onto CD/DVD, external hard drive and copies on my home computer/thumb drive.
Also, do you backup files regularly?

You can also use file hosting sites like 4shared.com,megaupload.com and mediafire.com
there the best file hosting sites that I know
or you can invest on a better anti virus so you wont need to back up your files regularly
Or you can use a flash drive or a external hard drive but make sure there virus free we dont want to have corrupted files in your drive, do we?

The downside to using file sharing sites is that usually there is a period you need to either download those files you backed up or accesses your account before they are deleted for inactivity. However, I do use mediafire since I login more than once a month which is enough for my account to not be inactive.

before formatting we should take a back up of ur system.. or u can take a copy for later use in cds and pendrive. or u can use lock folder software so that u can kock that folder. u can take a copy in pen drive and u can also lock the pen drive.. so that no one can use ur drive..

Yeah, that is a good idea. No point letting files you want to be deleted get wiped during reformat. It's ok for me as only 1 use my usb drive.

I back up my files on my external disk. Aside from that, I put them on CD's. I never back up my files before. But there was a time that my laptop got a virus and eventually I had a hard time recovering my files. So now, I always make sure that I back up important documents.

I use mozy and idrive to backup selected folders on my pc.
With a free account Mozy gives you 2GB and iDrive 5GB. If you need more you can upgrade and pay but I'm fine with that space.
You have to install their software and you can decide when they have to backup or you can make it manually. I prefer manually so they won't start working when I don't need it :P
Both softwares work good. Mozy is always in the background even if you disabled automatic backup but it's not so heavy even on my old PC. iDrive is not working in background and it seems faster but I use both just in case one of them loses all data.. hehe.
Everytime I format my PC I just install the programs, restore my folder and I have all my configuration files ready to go :D I find it very useful.

Hey there! I have a copy of all my data on external hard drives and DVD's. I've learned from my mistakes in the past. I've lost a lot of data in the past and I'm more careful now. I have a 2GB thumb drive, a 100GB external HD, a 1TB external HD, and a bunch of blank DVD's all for backing up and storing my data. I backup files every 1-2 months

I used to back up a lot of stuff on CDs and DVDs but now my CD drive doesnt work anymore and I just stick with backing up files in my external HD.
