Lefties and South Paws

Well, I was lefthanded as a child, but back then (in the 70s) it was thought that lefthanded people would have it harder in life so we were "retrained". I knew how to read and write at the age of 5 and I remember everybody always taking the pencil out of my left hand and putting it in my right hand, until I got used to writing right handed.
I was never punished or forced, I just got tired of being interrupted by having my pencil yanked out of my left hand lol.

The result is, that I had horrible handwriting and still do.The only way I can write nice, if all my leters lean to the left lol and I always get comments that my handwriting looks like a lefties when I do that.

I still have a lot of lefty traits. I brush my hair lefthanded and when my nose or ear itches, I automatically scratch with my left hand.

One of my sisters is also left handed, but try as they may, they weren't able to switch her to be a righty so they let her be lol.

I think bad luck is all based in superstition. Most lefties are more likely to be able to use both hands - because its a right handed world while right handers panic if the say the mouse is on the left side and can't for the life of them (the one's I know) get the hang of it. We're lucky because we are less likely to get repetitive strain because we can change hands. Further, we're lucky because its thought that if your right handed the left side of your brain is dominant and vice versa but we use both so I think its moreintegrated.

The only problem i have is its difficult to work in small notebooks or cute journals because my hand gets cramped near the bottom and with runny ink its more likely to get on my hand then a righty!
