last year i am living in a province...it's 4 hours away from the city, in there we live a very simple life, we have the freshest vegetable in town coz it is just plant in the backyard, fishes are cheaper and real fresh coz we are living near the sea, we were able to eat the native chickens which is more tasty...fresh air in the morning...less pollution, at night when its already 9, the environment is already quiet, what we just hear is the sound of the ocean and some vehicles that passing(very few) and the sounds of the insects! now, due to my husbands nature of work, we just moved here in the city...situation is very different...i buy everything in the market and its really much expensive, its very noisy coz the vehicles are passing 24 hours, air is not that fresh and when we go outside, so many smokes from the vehicles! but still its good to live here in the city because we are near in the market, so many places to go, near in my husband's work and of course there's an internet connection! but still there are times that i miss our life in the province...how about you? have you ever experienced living in the province? or in the city? how do you feel about it and which one do you prefer? thanks in advance for sharing! have a nice day!

I'm the same like u.. hehe ^_^ Though i did not ever experienced province life before, but i'm quite sure i will like it ^_^ I have always like a peaceful life without much noise and human traffic around.. I like to be alone, doing the things i like, in a natural environment.. DO planting, gardening, and enjoying the fruits of my own labour.. Be close to the ocean, swimming and tanning anytime i want, without any restrictions.. When it comes to night time, i'm able to just spread out a ground sheet on the ground, watching the moon and stars above me.. haha =D That's something whereby i cant do it in singapore..

haha..i know that Singapore is a country that is also a city and is it the one and only in the world? but i believe you have coastal areas there? my friend who's been there told me that your place is really a very nice city and prawns are low at price? is it true? well i think...in farming, you might envy me...hehehe coz i was born and grew up in place near the farm...actually our house in Laguna is fronting the rice fields...but so sad those rice fields are already gone, only few are left coz bigger areas are converted to subdivisions... but at least i have experienced living there...i remember the simplicity of life then, my grand ma is a helper of her husband who is a farmer...i mean she helps in the farm during harvest time...and we as kids then just play around the field and sometimes catch frogs that are edible...and my mom cooks it, she makes a frog adobo!...hehehe its delicious...i don't remember when was the last time i tasted it...

Well, I was born in the city and have grown up in the city. But my mother was from the province, a great province at that. Its just about 2-3 hours from where I live so usually I visit my mother's ancestral home from time to time. But most of the time, I go to the falls (kawasan) nearby the area since its just a 10 minute ride from my mothers ancestral home. Most of the time, I stay there overnight. It is really enjoyable and refreshing as you deep in cold water and listen to the sound of the falls as you sleep at night. Up until now, I go there from time to time, but this time, I bring my wife and son so we could enjoy and relax as a family.

Hello province girl, like you I was also born in the province and what you miss in your province are also what I miss. But due to the trend of livelihood I guess living and settling back in the province, for me, would already impossible. It's because in our province, you're livelihood which I have right now is nowhere to fine in my province how can I live then, Well, if I would be going to plant corn and plow fields again, maybe I could survive but I would never last because I am already used in the city where my source of income comes in..For me, if I could have a chance to go back there, it would only be for a sort of week (or two) vacation..Yeah that's it...continue writing ...Cheers..

i miss my life in the province too!!!! i lived in the province but when i got to colege, i have to transfer to the city.. i hate the pollution in the city and experience the worst traffic ever. not only that, i had been snatched thrice. i have been fooled when i asked about directions and thus got lost. i can't imagine people like them exist.. i guess i was just naive then... but, life in the city, though complicated makes me a more matured and open- minded person. here you are able to meet different kinds of people. and through meetng them, you'll learn how to deal with them...salaries are also a lot bigger here in the city. when i grow old, i want to live and die in the province...

yes its true, city life and life in the province has its pros and cons... i agree with you that when you live in the city you will be exposed to more experiences and broader knowledge for you will be able to meet new people and from them we will learn...and in terms of salary, yes city offers greater salary...but we must be very careful and cautious when we are in the city for different people are around us and some are bad who takes advantage of the other people... but when we are in the province...our life is very simple...at ease, relaxing, refreshing! no traffics...less crimes! :-) thanks for sharing!

Every once in a month we keep on visiting our province or old home I must say, because currently we are living in city, which is the same state or province. Well there are big difference living here in the city as compare to our old home. Before we live in an island, here we breath more fresh air and very peaceful day and pleasant night. Here in Island Garden City of Samal also in Davao, I spent almost 10 years straight, I studied and learned from schools here and kind teachers. This is actually a small mountainous city, a complete facility from computer with internet connection, vehicles such bus and motors are available here. We used to travel via bus to varge/ferry boat to downtown or the current place we use to live now. There are a lot of things I missed there like the hiking in the mountain 'coz our house is located up in the mountain. When we're at home we used to look down the sea during daytime, and at night we take a view on the city or downtime in front of the island. From there we could see the dancing lights from the hotels and towering buildings. We cannot identify what are those things moving in the downtown but we are being entertained by various lights that make a difference from the island with the downtown.
