Is real madrid ruining football | | Do you people think Real Madrid is ruining this awesome sport, for my part then I think these super high purchases on players can't be good for the sport, the prices on players has gone way to high, and then there are only like 5 teams who can uy good players.

Aw well. Its just the way it is. Nothing you can do.
Even though Real has both Kaka & Ronaldo, they will not win this year. Barcelona have a greater Defence:)

akuler (1213) | 6 months ago | Yeah ... you are right. Real Madrid will go buy every single good player available. But, you can not blame in on Perez alone. He is businessman and his goal is to make Real Madrid rich and famous.
The only blame we should throw at is to the player. If they know that it is hard for them to play week in week out at that club, why on earth they sign for that club. They have a choice to make at the first place. They can not be force to move to other club they don't want to.

| | | 3. livanger (5) | 6 months ago | Personally, I believe that this will not ruin football. In fact this is an example of market forces. Anyway buying these players does not guarentee them succes. This is a strategy that Real Madrid are choosing to implement and it has it's bad points. As some of you have already mentioned it could have an adverse affect on team chemistry. They are also putting themselves under financial pressure. Also i know that if my team was spending this sort of money on these players I would be delighted. Finally, Real Madrid should be great to wath next season and I cant wait to see them play and other people will surely agree. Meaning if anything this could increase the popularity, creating more revenue for other, smaller clubs and actually improving the beautifull game.

| SiddFisher (61) | 6 months ago | Man! That's a very economist view you got there!:)
I agree that Real Madrid will be worth watching this coming season, but think about the future of the players also. Look at this: How many strikers do Real Madrid have? Raul Van Nistelrooy Higuain Huntelaar Robben and now Benzema and possibly Ronaldo(he's a winger but he'll play striker too) That makes it 7. I've never seem any team play with more than 3 strikers. So that just proves that some players will remain out of action. Probably the Old players like Raul and Nistelrooy( They'll lose much more without these experienced players) but still that leaves 5 strikers. The young players will not have enough matches to develop themselves.
I've only spoken about the Forwards yet! Lets look at the mid-field Kaka Gago Sneijder Van der Vaart L. and M. Diarra Javi Garcia and Ronaldo Thats 7 as well. How many subs can you make? Three. So that leaves more players out of action.
And so on........

astonysh (1824) | 5 months ago | A lot of those players will be going - Huntelaar is in talks with both Milan and Stuttgart for example, and van Nistelrooy and van der Vaart have been listed by Real as surplus to requirements. I am a bit surprised nobody has made a move for Wesley Sneijder, but that may be a matter of time.

| | 4. akuler (1213) | 6 months ago | Hi croozo,
I don't think that what R. Madrid did is ruining football. This is an open market. Madrid have to pay that price because the club that want to sell that player want that much amount before they agreed to release him.
Good players hard to find and a bit impossible to buy. If you can't afford to buy, train your own players. Arsenal is the good examples of good producer of back up player.
Real Madrid maybe have all the top players in the world, but they wouldn't win anything from that. The history will repeated again and again.
Maybe they have chance to steal La Liga crown from Barca. But, they totally can't win Champion League. Believe me.
Thanks for this discussion and have a nice day.

| | 5. emmanola (210) | 6 months ago | Absolutely no; Real Madrid is not ruining football by paying a lot of money for the players the team considers as important to realize future goals. I, however, think that the measure of success Real Madrid is going to achieve depends much more on having so many key players in the team. I mean that having so many good players in the team may be counter productive to some extent.
The likes of Kaka, Ronaldo and others are going to be under intense pressure to achieve desire results and justify the amount of money Real Madrid paid to acquire them. Moreover, there may be some conflict among the players themselves as some will be confronted with the reality of not making the "first eleven" leading to some level of frustration. Moreover, each player may begin to play more to "shine" and prove that he can score goals and play less as a team player. If this happens, and there is a possibility, the team may not perform at its best.
So, let Real Madrid break banks to buy the "best" football players in the world, that is not a guarantee of success. So, there should be no fear that teams like Real Madrid is able to corner many good players for the team that achieve much success in the end is the team that is able to win laurels.

| | 6. Sangkala (187) | 6 months ago | i think modern football have 2 main side. first, outside field, club management, their responsibility is to manage the club, to increase the club value, money, players transfer, club image, etc. some others thing like that. second, inside the flied, the players it self, including the coach. their responsibility is to win all the games they play. win the league, trophy, and soon.
Before kaka, ronaldo and now benzema, madrid already have lots brilliant players. but what have they win and reach last season?nothing. so i think have lots good players is not a guarantee that the club will became a superior club. more important is how the club manage to build good atmosphere among those brilliant players. if they fail, this season is just another bad season for madrid. i believe madrid will sold lots of players soon, just to make balance for their funds. thanks
