When I feel overwhelmed I usually start getting mad and upset. I'll withdraw but not really mean to, I'll just want the attention. I know what I'm doing but sometimes can't control myself from getting mad, or upset. I guess though when I've gotten overwhelmed, the best thing for me to do is to be alone, take a bath or something and then I usually feel lots better. Nothing like getting extremely pissed to make you feel a lot better after you calm down.

I've had family and friends to know that I was mad, but just rile me up. I guess that's why I like being alone when I do get mad. I don't think that my coworkers have ever known that I was mad, but while at work if I was mad usually customers cheered me up. I'm glad the nursing home does that for you. Right now I'm out of work, lol, but hoping to get a job in healthcare once my fiance and I marry.

What sort of position are you looking for in healthcare? We have need of nurses down here in the Ozarks. ;)

I understand...some times you just have to blow off steam. lol
And being alone afterward helps you sort out the emotions of it all.
I'm a loner by nature...and when I am stressing...it's worse. I can go a week without going anywhere but work...and my coworkers know when to not talk to me. lol They're a pretty patient lot...and my residents in the nursing home always pull me out of it.

For me I usualy just turn off my computer. Listen to some of my favorite music and spend time with my daughter. I will call a friend and spill all my troubles and listen to what she has to say. Sometimes I crawl into bed and sleep,or lay on the couch and try to not let my daughter know what is doing on with me. I will just tell her I am sick and she pretends to "fix me" lol

Hi! glad to see you online! All of the things you mentioned are great ways to decompress. I like that you reach out to others...I think that is very healthy. I've gotten into the habit of being withdrawn....and need to change that.

Sometimes alone time is good,to be withdrawn from others. In my case my daughter is here 24/7 except for during school. So I have learned to hide things.
But I do tend to withdraw in other ways. Like my social site I frequent,I stop going or only go to say hello to a few people,or to post a status, answer messages such. I feel like it's not the same so I ahve withdrawn from there a bit.

I have kinda withdrawn from Yuwie too..used to spend most of my time there. Now...I'm sick of dealing with egos...and cheaters. So I do like you describe...go to say hi and look around.
That is why I am glad to see some friends from there..here. :) I do miss the old days on Yuwie.
I understand what you mean by alone time....and I encourage you to do what you need to do...to take CARE of yourself. :)
Please keep in touch...k?

I withdraw AND reach out for help from trusted friends and family. I do things that I enjoy, like read or take a walk or listen to music, but if I'm figuring something out, I will reach out for help.

I am definately a withdrawer!! I wont even talk to my own family when things get really bad.....if i dont have good things to talk about i just dont answer the phone....same with yuwie....when things are really bad i dont hang out there as much cause i dont want to be talking about my problems. I dont know exactly why i am like that but i definately hide away from the world when i am worried...

Hey pixeltwistr....I just sent you a friend's request.
You know, since I discovered mylot...I haven't been on Yuwie much. Stopped in to answer messages and approve blog comments.
How've you been? Good to see you here. :)
I should LEARN to be a hider and withdraw...my heart always over rules my head.

Hey,
Well when I am overwhelmed by life, I just merely deal with it, and it isn't that hard to actually deal with it. I don't really reach out for help from anyone, I just deal with it, listen to music, or post on myLot. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Sorry it took me so long to respond, Eliteuser.
Everyone is different. Our chemicals in our wee little brains often get out of whack and it may make handling stress different for each of us. Not to mention I'm menopausal....
and that makes it an even greater challenge to be stress free.
