Help me to choose my next pc,desk or notebook?

My last pc is a IBM notebook pc,its type is T21.After my using 8 years,it get tired and retired last month.The experience of using T21 is very good,and I now really need to buy a new pc to meet the need of my daily work and life.I have one problem now,should I choose desk pc or notebook pc? As we know that the desk pc can provide more widder view zoom and other convenieces,but it is also more hardly to be body carrying than the notebook pc.What are your opinon? Please come here and give some help.
