Dogs will scare them off, but do not be alarmed dogs do not kill a few of them as well. That is what they do. It must be nice to see all the animals all the time.

Perhaps you could use some chicken wire to build up the fence around your garden. I know it is a little more expense plus more work, but it doesn't seem like you have much of a choice if you want to save your garden from these rascals.

I think I would be afraid of foxes. Do they harm humans? And what about your dog? Maybe they are small enough to the point they are scared of humans and dogs, I'm not really familiar with them. I guess that is why I would be afraid. LOL We are afraid of what we don't know, right.

I don't like foxes,bucasue the foxes very is very terrble.especially eyes....
they harm humans.And the other way round,I like dogs very much.it is our friends.

i just don't feel it right when wildlife are killed and rabbits are really adorable. i guess its because rabbits are few here.
yesterday, a friend of my daughter visited and gave her a white rabbit as big as a cat for a pet and we love it so soon now. we named it j.r.

Hi savypat! I'm thinking the dogs may help to keep them at bay. Maybe you could set out some traps and relocate them yourself if all else fails. It would be a lot of work but if the dogs don't do the trick..it might keep you from having to kill them. Good luck.

This is one of the nicest things about country living...all the wild life. We had foxes for just one year. Their den was beside an old barn wall on the neighbor's property. It was adorable to see the pups come out at dusk and sniff along the yard for bugs to eat lol. And we raised two baby squirrels another year...orphans. When they could open a walnut on their own, we set them back into the wild.

We get ran over by rabbits every summer. Thank goodness almost every neighbor has a dog but they still multiply like mad. Our neighbor said his dog has killed 8 so far this summer.

It is a pain when wildlife eats the stuff you are growing. You can always hear someone complaining of moose eating their flowers around their homes here. It's nice though to look out your window and see some wildlife, brings a sense of peace.

It saddens me to hear that you actually would kill rabbits! . I don't think jack rabbits are a life or death situation, if you ask me. I think it's a hassle - but I'm sure you could fence your property off or something like that to keep the rabbits out (couldn't you?) or put up some anti-animals flowers (the smell makes them not go in your garden - or something like that. My dad has them around his garden to keep squirrels out. I'm not sure what it's called, though.)

I'm not responding to this to scold..But I just wanted to mention that while I was up north, in the country, at my dad's friends home - they were trying to shoot Coyotes that were apparently in the horses' area. I guess coyotes kill horses - and so I can understand why my dad's friends might not want their horses to die.

I don't see many jack rabbits where we are so I really don't know what advice to give you. We raise rabbits as a hobby and small income for my daughter. I think that it seems that if you are a wildlife habitat then it would not be right to kill them. Let's hope that they will leave if you let the dog chase them.
