How much was your food bill for your wedding?

My fiance and I, together with his mother, has looked over what we'll be buying for food consumption at our wedding. We're hoping that it will only be about $300.00 for the food. It's going to be Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, and Baked Beans. We'll have tea and water to drink. We may have something else to drink. We'll have atleast 3-4 cakes so that will fill everyone up. We're getting about 160 hamburgers, hotdogs, and of course we'll need enough tea and water to go around for everyone.
So what is or what was your food like? How much did it cost you? Did you cater?
We were going to, but well, it'd be really expensive.

I don't know that it will be quite $28.00 per person for us, lol, I sure hope not. We're only going to have 80 people, not sure if I mentioned that though. Lol. Well I think that's not half bad for catering.

So it was $1.00 per person basically? Wow that's pretty nice! I'd love to do that, and with you not having many guests, well we're not going to have very many either. 80 at the most, as compared to some who have 100 or more. Lol. We're not in a good financial condition right now ourselves though we have his mom and dad to help us pay for our wedding. We hope to pay for the food, or the napkins, plates, and cutlery if nothing else.

i haven't gotten married but i know people spend thousands on the food alone. i just wanted to make sure you also put in your budget the stuff for on top of the burgers. mustard, ketchup. wasn't sure if you thought of that for that budger or not. even doing the hanmburgers and hotdogs will be expensive for lots of people but it is to me the smartest and cheapest way to do things. i was engaged once and planned to have a backyard wedding with a bbq as well. good luck

Oh yes, we thought about that, but I know that it's so easy to forget the condiments. Luckily we have my fiance's mom, who's head isn't in the clouds like mine and my fiance's are! lol. BBQ's are always fun, and it's a great idea too! I agree, it's cheaper in regards to what some people have spent.

This is a really good discussion baby, and I am I am sure that different people have different opinions when it comes to the food bill, and how much they want to spend vs. how much they end up spending, because everyone knows that food is expensive and you can easily spend more than you want on food,I am sure that some people get catering for their wedding so that can be quite a bit of money especially if you have a lot of guests, and then I am sure there are people who do cookouts or something like that for their wedding,I know we are going to do hamburgers and hotdogs for our wedding,so that will be cheaper then if we got catering, and I know before we were planning on anywhere between three hundred and five hundred for food but now we might only have fifty people so it should not be that much, since we will not need as many hamburgers and hotdogs as we first planned on needing,so maybe we will get by with just a couple hundred for the food bill which would be really nice, and it seems like we are going to get by with just spending like a thousand dollars on our wedding which is better than our first estimate,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

There was a lot of food left over for our wedding, wasn't there? we had to eat a lot of it, and then we still have some in the freezer. Maybe we can eat that on a day that it's snowing outside and we don't have anything else in the house. I did like the hamburgers, I honestly thought they tasted really good. The Little Richard's Stuff also tasted good, and of course the macaroni always tastes good. I love you.

Yeah we had a lot of food left over after the wedding, and I know we were not expecting that many left overs, and I agree maybe we can eat it when it is snowing and there is nothing else in the house to eat,amd of course the hamburgers were really good,I did not like the stuff from Little Richards but that is because I do not eat that kind of stuff lol,and macaroni and cheese is always good, you can never go wrong with that, and you can never have too much of it,just like pizza,I love you with all of my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting Baby.
