Even though I usually out of town for the July 4th with a couple friends, this year, I have to cancel all of previous planning; instead, staying home for the sake of money saving. During this recession, we have to live frugally, and plan ahead and discreet about the way we spend. For the July 4th, we can enjoy the fireworks at somewhere close to my home. For instance, the downtown area, and the Stone Mountain. No need to spend a big chunk of money on somewhere else this year. Don't you do the same?

I'm typically out of town as well. Actually, I take vacations around this time just because you have that holiday where you get paid and not have to take vacation. But this year was a tough year. I haven't taken any vacations because I just don't want to spend any money. I want to pay off all my credit cards - then maybe start thinking about vacation again. *sigh* it's gonna be a long time before vacation for me.

Saving money when and wherever possible is definitely a good idea! I'm hoping that this experience with the recession will shape people and help them to understand that money doesn't just grow on trees. Luckily for my fiance and I, we don't have to pay bills, I've gotten into debt though and am mad at myself for doing so. It's definitely a learning experience though, so I'm hoping that I can help people to understand saving, and not going places is the best thing to do.
