Did I miss something? There are TEXT ADS on my squidoo lens.

Dont remmeber seeing these before. Is this also part of the new guidelines email? Do these links even belong to squidoo? Are we getting paid for them? I should think if squidoo earns, we earn.

I can't stand them so I have been shutting them off of my lenses as I update them.

Not a problem. A lot of lensmasters are not happy about it at all. I am not happy with them because they really do mess with the scheme of my lenses. A lot of times they don't fit with my lens because I use html and css in my lenses.

Check out comment below for another issue. The links they are putting on the lenses dont always agree with the topic and then what? It always comes back full circle, its about the money. That is why they are in business.

I just noticed those links too. I hovered over them and they do seem to tie in well with my latest lens, which is the one I'm most interested in promoting right now.
It's good to know I can turn them off if need be though. Thanks for that tip trekkiemelissa.

LOL Well I don't get any earnings yet from my lenses, so it doesn't matter to me really. I'll just make sure they're not too cheesy and that they are appropiate for my content.
Right now I am concerned with my ranking and how to even get traffic to my lenses. I got stoked that I was able to write a lens that ranked as high as 239, so I just tweaked an old lens that ranks 51'000 and hopefully that'll pull it up in the ranks.
