I see do not see freedom in it, heck we can't even shoot fireworks off all we do its eat, spent money and get fat.what the cost of freedom of kids overseas getting killed for oil?

| |  The original intent of Independence Day was to celebrate the signing of the Constitution. And the idea of a free nation governed by law and not a respecter of men. Our government has moved away from the limits imposed by the Constitution in order to take more power to themselves these days, so if anything July 4th should be a reminder of the responsibilities we as voters bare in choosing our elected representatives for honor and character.

| | mmm,Does voting of the people get the job done? in take a look around the usa has nothing ...everything has been given away. Work outside usa when was the last time you bought that say on it "made in the USA" businessman have no care as long as they make money ,cut cost. | |  4th of July is whatever anyone makes it to be, in this case if you do not want to celebrate don't.
To me it means that I am proud to be an American, that I can live in a country where people can pursue their dreams, yes, we have hard times but it is not the first time in history Americans have hard times.
I do not like that young men and women are far away from home, but a lot of them are proud of what they are doing.
It is not all about spending money, no matter what day it is you were planning to eat today right? if one overeats if has nothing to do with the holiday but with our habits.

| | Let's put it this way: you have the freedom to speak your mind as you just have done now, you have the freedom to complaint to your goverment and to vote and well dress any way you want, there are many other freedoms that you have.
I am not trying to convince you of anything, if you believe you are not free, then that is the way you will live, it is really up to you.
There are many people in the world that want our freedom, and died coming to this country to get it.
