What do you think of not wearing wedding gown/suit in a wedding?  |

|  I remembered last year, I went to a very special kind of wedding dinner. It was stated in the invitation card requesting all guests to wear anything in demin. Everyone was very curious about attending the wedding dinner. The bride who is my ex-colleague wore a very sexy bustier top with a mini demin skirt and her husband wore a vest with his jean. Nobody really mind that the wedding couple is not wearing the usual wedding gown and suit. I think what is important is the meaning and atmosphere of the wedding and of cos the presence of the bride, bridegroom and all the guests. So, myLotters, what do you think of not wearing wedding gown/suit in a wedding? Will it make a wedding less meaningful?

| |  Personally,There is nothing wrong in asking the guests to put on denim,,it might sound funny,,but definitely comfortable,, There is going to be no less fun at the occasion ,if the wedding gowns are not used,,No love lost

| | Yes, we were all wondering is it some kind of joke when we saw the invitation card and we were curious what the wedding would be like. Indeed everyone enjoyed the whole wedding very much and it was an eye opener for me as well. A wedding is still a wedding with or without the usual the wedding dress/suit. Happy myLotting =)) | | | |

| |  I don't think there is anything wrong in wearing what you want to your wedding. In fact i think it would be more appropriate if people did get away from the white dresses for the bride. There was a reason brides started out wesring white. I think most of them have gotten away from the reason if u get my drift.

| | Yes, i agree that wearing the usual wedding gown for the bride is very nice but the wedding gown is actually very uncomfortabke to wear. You got to wear a corset underneath it so that you will look shapely in it. Also, you got to be very careful not to dirty it or step on it. I was one of the bride that think wearing the wedding gown is sooooo uncomfortable. In fact, during my wedding which was about 12 years back, I am the very few brides that chose an cream colour wedding gown instead of the usual white one. | | | |

| |  I think your wedding is just that your wedding, you are throwing the party and if you want a theme wedding it's just fine. I'm not into jumping out of airplanes but if that is what you want go for it, I'll send a gift.

| | Hahaha.... so my wedding gift will come via 'Airmail' and I will catch it while jumping down the plane.....i suppose....Yes, i agreed that a wedding is a private affair to the wedding couple. They got the rights to decide how they want their wedding to be like. However for us Chinese, there are just too many wedding traditions and customs to follow. I personally think that if those traditions and customs are not too unreasonable, I will still try my best to follow. Cos I think that it is our responsibility not to let our tradition or customs die out.

| | Hahaha... i am one of those bride-to-be that needs really to diet and got to put on a corset to fit nicely in my wedding gown. I can still remember clearly how the stupid and tight corset feel.... so tight and uncomfortable.... can't even eat during the whole wedding dinner. | | | |
