Kids and computer!! ATENTION!!!

It is not the computer that is dangerous to kids under 15 years old. It is the Internet. With the internet you can type in something innocent into Google's Search engin and get something totally not innocent. I do believe that it is important that kids get experience with computers. Especially when most office jobs require people to beable to type 40 wpm's. Also there are games and programs that are great for education. I do think internet is perfect for educating kids but it is important for parents to watch thier kids while they are on it. If the parents cannot be around then find a way to prevent them from being on the internet. I would say if people spend time on the computers for a long time then it is bad for the health. Yes this includes eyes, back, legs, and blood circulation. If parents go to work then unplug the internet or put a password on it so your kids cannot access the internet. I believe that computers do brain wash our kids and sometimes I do believe that it brain washes adults too. For instance I used to be able to go through the old fassion phone books and dictionaries, now because I use the internet to look up just about everything I have slowed down and sometimes have to think about how to use the old books. I feel that if kids were able to spend thier time more wisely between physical activities and computers then yes kids will be fine.

computers are really doing half the good to people to an extent since because you get benefited in either way to get the core. Its still not so good to get addicted under 15 years of age.

yeah, in my opinion, i think it is dangerous.

you can find a lot of useful information in the internet, as well as harmful ones. being in the philippines, we cant connect to the internet unless we sign up for it through the phoneline. so it's up to the household leader if he gets an internet connection or not.

most of the children here are very much hooked up on online games and social networking sites. it kinda annoys me a bit to see my younger sister very busy updating her site or something instead of hitting the books! well, at least reviewing her notes. (if she even has one.) @_@ but then again, it all really depends on the upbringing of the parents.

i think the traditional ways of education and play are better than the technology nowadays. even though you put in a lot of effort, it's all worth it after all that has been done.^_^

I guess it is very dangerous without proper guidance from the parents. The internet has uncontrollable obscene pictures and sites on it nowadays, some sites morbid too which may affect the growth and development of a child psychologically, physically, emotionally and religiously. Children of below the legal age should be properly educated and guided with the proper use of the computer.

i dont think its bad for children under 15.with help of proper guidence and help they can learn computer too.there are many examples of kids only 6 yrs old cracked some programming competitions
so i think its fine for such childern to handle comps

Computer is part of the life now a days. And we all know that there is a lot of info and others that we can get here. That is nice that your child knows how to use it but as a parent you should dicipline your kids of the schedule of using of computer. As well as know the things your childs doing on the net. There are a lots a dangerous things in the net that your child may encounter without you. So just be friendly to your child and love the things he/she is doing on net.

I thought computers should supplement,not replace,educational activities such as art,books,music,outdoor exploration,dramatic play and socializing with other children. Parents should guide children's use of computers. Be on hand to help your child,answer questions and interact with him as he works on the computer.
Take the time to observe your child at the computer and participate in computer activities with him.
Observing children working at a computer can reveal a lot about the way they think and solve problems.
Encourage your child to work with a sibling or friend at the computer whenever possible.Using computers with others encourages important social skills,such as turn-taking and cooperation,and helps build your child's ability to speak and listen.

It depends on the use of it..
computers will be never dangerous to anyone untill he/she tries to make wrong use of it..
moreover..it would be good if ur child is interested in computer...it can become his future..as with me...
let him do what he want...but stop him if he is limited to some games everyday..
let him explore the computer world..

Computer is not dangerous for kids.But they should not use it for a long time.THey can get lots of information by searching through google.They can also spend their boring times by playing games.They can also use the computer for their studies through cdroms or videos.They can also do some typing and priting works so they can learn the basics of computer quickly.
