I am sure that to this question Indians can answer very good, if they want, because i read a lot about Indian culture and civilization, and there seems that meditation is very well used. Meditation can be when we need some silence, few minutes just for our mind and body...is very relaxing, and why not very refreshing after a work day. I don t try comkplicated styles in meditation, i just stay and try don t think in something special, just try to make my mind and body relax, and seems that this help me a lot when i am nervous or very tired.

Indians were very good in meditation before the advent of British India. Now it seems to have declined, but still there is a large population which follows it. The most of them who are good are great yogis living in the Himalayas who can't be accessed so easily. I used to meditate a lot years back, and I did devote a lot of time. It was never steady for me, and I used to just go with the flow. I would sit long if my body and mind felt like it, and if there was a sense of well-being. But the days when I would feel restless I wouldn't sit at all. So it always varied and changed between months and weeks. Sometimes I would spend one hour in the morning and one hour in the night. And later it increased to 2 hours in the morning and then 3 hours in the night. But now, I am following the path of introspection, or self-inquiry. So, I don't follow the conventional method of sitting in one posture and meditating for long hours. I have totally dropped that and just trying to be aware of the self at all times, whatever I do. I just try to be aware of the feeling of the divine consciousness in me during all times of the day. But it's good to meditate every day and it's also good if you make an effort go deeper with your efforts and make it much better and less restless and more thoughtless. The idea is conquering the mind. So, yes, it's good that you meditate twice everyday, and at least a few minutes before you go to sleep and a few minutes as soon as you wake up. This will keep your sub-conscious mind very clean and clear of unwanted thoughts. The days when you are not working and are more relaxed at home, you can try increasing the duration and also devoting the whole day only for meditation. Then you would surely see great signs of progress.

Hi, i am not Indian, and i know they are very good in meditation, but i have my opinion about meditation, all of us need few minutes in a day to be in deeply silence, in a dark room if is possible, no sounds, very comfortable sit, and try to think just in pleasent things, or just think in nothing...this can help to recharge battery for all day, and make us feel more relax
