Five series wins in a row for dhoni and india

For note, under Ganguly's captaincy, not only Indian team was in shackles but also full of ego filled cricketers. AND not to forget he is the first captain in decades to lead a team that defeated Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and West Indies in their respective home countries.

Dhoni is the BEST CAPTAIN, a FINE SPORTSMAN and a SENSIBLE BATSMEN.

yuvraj singh, harbhajan singh,kaif wer all youngsters when they were included in the side under the leadership of ganguly. they had the backing of ganguly which is why they performed so well. it was under his leadership that they made such a name for themselves.

Really well said, Ganguly is the man who maid this youngistan INDIAN cricket team not dhoni or other. Dada is the person who found skills in dhoni,sehwag,harbhajan and yuvraj and exploited those in favor of country.

even west indies team has not been in good form. they have not won a one day series this year. so the same can be said about them. it could have been 3-1 in favour of India too. out of the two India managed to come out top in the first three matches and were rewarded for it.

more than luck a captain needs a good team to win. and one thing he can do is lead from the front which means he is not winning just because of the other players in the team. he dropped players like ganguly and dravid in one day cricket who have established a lot in all forms of the cricket. everyone knows dhoni has been lucky but dropping the seniors and bringing in the youngsters was not a matter of chance he knew what he was doing and has taken the team forward very well. if he has luck along the way we cannot blame dhoni for it. look at what has happened to Australia. whenever i write something about the poor performances the of Australian team many mylot members say they have a weaker team since a few of the players retired. even two of India's senior players are not in the odi team but India has been winning. but when India wins no one say they have won in spite of two seniors are not in the team but when Australia lose they always write that Australia are losing because their seniors are retired. people should just accept India has a very good team and Australia does not.

I too said the same I meanty to say that luck is not the only thing but they need luck also.
Sangakkara had a wonderful team in the T20 finals but they had some bad luck that day and they lost.So a captain needs some luck along with the good team.

yes i agree the case with rohit sharma is peculiar. when he clicks he is one of the best in the team but when he fails he fails miserably. but gambhir played well in two of the three matches and provided good starts along with kartik who has opened for the first time in odi cricket. and considering gambhir has not been in good form he has played well to provide two good starts in three matches.

let us not forget India did not have their premier bowler and both their opening batsmen. abhishek nayar even made his one day debut which shows india did not have a full strength squad. ishant sharma has not been in good form but just as he was looking good in the fourth odi rain played spoilsport. he still has a tri series to get his rhythm going before the champions trophy. a win in any case is still a win and west indies had more experienced players than India and their bowling department was better as well. but even for them their spinner benn did not bowl well in the same way sharma did not bowl well for India. i would not say west indies were superior. they looked superior only in the second match.

I do not think it is fair to compare dhoni with ganguly. ganguly was the captain who changed the face of Indian cricket and taught the indian players to be aggressive. It is because of the players inducted by him like yuvraj singh and harbhajan that India started playing fearless cricket and stopped being intimated by the opposition. While sachin tendulkar was the captain the team was not good enough to be honest. And dhoni has the best Indian team at his disposal. Like sachin tendulkar said a captain is as good as his team.
