the government does not seem to care about our war veterans

generation kill - this is a seven part series called generation kill based on a book of the same name by evan wright who was an embedded journalist who rode with the USMC 1ST RECON BATTALION during the war's first phase in 2003 www.hbo.canada/generationkill/

mylotters, this has been bugging me for some time and i feel the need to speak on it. now i do not support the war that is going on in iraq, but i support our troops, and i would have thought that the government would too. imagine my surprise when i heard how the troops are treated when they get back home, these heroes and war vets who are fighting for the freedoms that we are currently enjoying. the government teaches them how to be trained killers, sends them to a war they should not even be fighting then when they get back, there is no support for them. they have to wait for a long time for their disability to kick in if they happen to have been injured in their tour of duty. some of them are even homeless. others have never known anything but the military. i would think that instead of the tax payers' money being wasted on free food and accomodation for prisoners in jail, that they would have spent it on our vets. i am shocked and embarassed that this happening, how can this be happening? can there not be some program that can re-acclimatize war vets to civilian life when they come home? what the hell is going on, does anybody else think that this is all just crazy. these people risk their lives, live uin shocking conditions and put their lives on the line every day that they are out there and no one seems to care.

There are alot of things government is doing wrong, but the problem is that people are not willing to stand up and say "enough" i look at some thirld world countries and i think they have more freedom then we do. Kirgistan had a revolution a few years ago and got the president they didn't like out of the office, when the next president came it seemed to be getting better, but then prices for beans went up, and people didn't like it. they almost started a second revolution because they thought that if prices on food are going up then government is not doing it's job. Now look at the "free" country, US, we can't do a thing about all the wrong that governmetn does. government is curently working on passing laws that will allow police to arrest and search people without any paper work. they pass it as a terrorism threat, but who is terrorist? people who fight the invaders who came to their country and are killing people by randomly bombing buildings? or people who invaded the country? are we really free? how many people hate our ex president? why couldn't we get him out of the office before the end of his turm? truth is, our government doesn't care about people, as long as we vote them in and do what they need done they can go ahead and keep living their perfect lives in their huge houses and not worry about anything, and other peopel, well, once they do what government officials need them to, they are no longer needed.

don't you just love all the stuff that is put under the homeland security act, the one that gives folks the right to deprive us of our freedoms. i mean i can understand in some cases why this is being done to protect us, i mean i was there when the bombings went down in london and it was a very scary time. i have been saying that the us is going to turn into a police state for a while now. i get that the terrorist threat needs to be dealt with but sometimes they go to far with their racial profiling and whatnot. the troops are close to my heart because i have brothers out there in the sandbox, fighting daily for their lives and this just irks me. and they get paid peanuts too.

yeah they had started to do random searches at like the tube(subway) station if you looked suspect. i am pretty unusual looking but i do not look like a terrorist or what the stereotypical terrorist looks like, but i used to carry a backpack. yeah i was searched. my ex was pulled out of the airport line to be searched because he had his backpacking pack and he had a beard, and he is white. i guess they thought domestic terrorist. it irritates me that they can get away with profiling like that, but hey at the end of the day there is nothing anyone can really do except prepare to kiss freedom goodbye, what is next a curfew. it invokes images of that denzel washington movie, the siege.

I'm seeing cameras being placed everywhere. al around major roads there are now these perfectly new towers with a camera at the top. every time i see them i think about V for Vendetta. Btw, i found out why people in "civilized" countries don't do anything about things like this. there was a study done on rats where they checked the effects of cell phones. rats that were exposed to cell phone radiation for a few minuted got a layer in the brain that prevents toxins and blood to go into the brain damaged. after 2 hours of exposure to a cell phone damage was unrepairable. With this layer damaged people are less likely to fight for their rights, they are more passive. So people who live in the third war countries are ready to go out there and fight for their rights while in countries where almost everyone uses cell phone don't do anything to stop this problems. technically we can do something to stop them from taking away our freedom, all we have to do is get together and have a massive strike. If a few million people were to walk out on the streets and say that they have had enough, government would have no choice. but people are simply not going to do it because they are too passive.

the least that the man could do is look out for them, even though their job is done. they leave them high and dry, and yet they fully expect to stop loss them willy nilly, that makes my blood boil too!
