ok, so I've had THE most horrible legs for the past god knows how many years. I've hidden them away. They're all white and pasty from lack of sunlight.
The problem has been that I get these really horrible ugly little spots all over my thighs and the backs of my calves. I thought they were scarred over and that they'd never go away! Anyway, I got really annoyed about a year ago when I was 23, seeing all these girls walking around with short shorts on in the summer with beautiful perfect legs. I darent even let my boyf touch them at all. It even got so bad that I was scared to shave and would only do this once a fortnight when it got realy bad -GROSS!
So I decided to do something about it. I got some moisturiser after reading online that it would work, and used that every evening or every other evening throughout the summer. Well it worked slightly but not fantastically. It was better than nothing. I used the entire bottle within a month (I think that's fast) and then I couldnt find it again so I stopped trying over the winter and still my legs remained rather horrible.
About 2 months ago, my BF was in town on his day off work, and he rang me and asked what the moisturiser was called that I'd been looking for. I told him and he said that the shop he was in had it on offer along with the extra moisturising version. I told him to get me 4 bottles of the extra intensity stuff. Worth it as it was nice moisturiser. Anyway, I've been using that for 2 months now, and you wouldnt recognise my legs now! Those spots have faded dramatically, and my legs are so soft! I epilate every morning, and a week ago I started using a really good microcrystal exfoliant in the shower.
I'm so happy. The doctors hadnt cared, had prescribed parafin oil cream which frankly made it worse. I'm proud of myself for sticking at my regime. This evening I've put on some sunless tanning moisturiser, which I'm planning on using every other day just to give my skin a bit of colour.
Happy, happy, happy, me

You go girl!
Patience and vigilance is the key to use natural treatments for small ailments. The only thing I can really remember right of the bat,is when my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I had a very hard time coping. I put myself on a Johns Worth regimen, which is suppose to calm your nerves and it did help me stay calmer.

thanks. Thats terrible to hear that your mom was diagnosed with cancer. I heard about St Johns Wort before. Was it difficult to come off once you had been on it for a while?

No, since it's an herb it's not addictive at all.I haven't taken it in about 10 years. My mom passed away in '99, so shortly after that I stopped taking it. As great as it was in helping me cope,it wasn't strong enough to help cope with the grief.
Natural self treatments are usually only good for minor issues anyways, but it's good to know there is something out there that can help when stress arises. Something that us natural and non addictive, because I refuse to ever take any prescription happy pills.

Wow that's good to hear! Well i haven't done much yet about a certain skin condition i have. Haven't been to the doctor either... but anyway sometimes it is indeed up to each of us to heal ourselves... our body somehow knows how to heal itself i think by unconsciously suggesting to us that some things will make us better and stuff like that. =)
Hopefully i'll get my condition fixed really soon. =)
