Hello fellow mylotters, I am curious on your thoughts. With a balanced diet and exercise weight loss is a sure thing. However I am wondering, I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and trying to maintain my weight, if not to lose a lb or so. I am eating sensibly throughout the day and not eating past 7pm, as I am usually in bed by 9pm. I've been walking at night and trying to power walk most of it. However I have only seen a steady maintaining my weight. I know its not good to LOSE weight during pregnancy but I know I can afford to lose a lb or so. Any advice on what I should do to help with this loss or how much I should walk?

Since you are pregnant now..dun go for diet.ur baby need lot of nutrition foods. You hav to walk more as near to the delivery time.
After delivery and over your confinement period, you cna go for healthy diet,eat more fruits and vege,drink milk and also eat some nutrition foods.

Im not on a "diet" however I do eat sensibly... I eat what I should for my fruits and veggies and dairy. as well as my other recommended food groups. I don't go overboard on carbs after noon, i try to get most of my carbs in the early morning to kick start my energy and metabolism. Any other advice?

I've read its okay to lose weight as long as its still early in the pregnancy. Not much, for sure. Walking can be very healthy for you, however, throughout the whole term, and can make it much easier to get back on your feet after delivery. I think your body will tell you how much you can do. My sister in law is pregnant right now, about 2/3 of the way through, and a half hour walk really wore her out. She was in decent shape before becoming pregnant, its just a lot of work carrying that baby around!

My bad, I just saw where you said you were at 34 weeks, which is 9 months! You definitely shouldn't push yourself too hard, many women are on bed rest or at least told to take it easy. I understand not wanting to be a big balloon after giving birth, but I don't want you to accidentally risk hurting yourself or your kid. Worry about unballooning in a month when you can taking a new baby on your walk with you in a stroller, so it can relax it as well. I still think a light walk will be fine, but talk to your doctor, they will know what is right for you and your situation.

try to lose weight after delivery. the walking part when u are pregnant is advised so that u it will only take u a few moments to deliver the baby, when the due date comes.

walking is a very good exercise.

Walking is always good for health.. it prevents from all diseases mainly cardio coz it reduces calaris in ur body.. i walk atlest 5KM to 6KM a day. but its good if u walk atlest 5 KM a day and morning walk is always good fresh air etc.. it also very good for people how got Sinus problems etc.. Happy walking:)
