I'm a LOTR geek too. I think my favorite line is "It comes in pints?!?!" when the hobbits are at the tavern.

In addition to 'Looks like ... menu' there are a few lines that I find hilarious one is from the extras and the extended version.

- Gimli: Nobody tosses a dwarf.

- Gandalf: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins.Nor is he early. He arrives
precisely when he means to.

- (in extras scene where Legolas and Gimli have a drinking game )
Legolas: I think I feel something, a slight tingling in my fingers,
I think it is affecting me

- Pippin: It's talking, Merry. The tree is talking.

- Treebeard: I have told your names to the Entmoot, and we have agreed you are
not orcs.

The battle scenes are amazing, the arrival of the elves at helms deep,
even though amazing as the movies are I still miss things from the book, but amazing all the same, it would be impossible to put everything in and what they kept works beautifully.

The Lord of the Rings, nice movie. It's a favorite movie to me also.

Gimli saying to Legolas when he defeated the big elephant that it only counts as one.
Not so sure about the precise line though but that is the gist of it. This topic made me want to watch the whole series over again!

My favorite serious line is "Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends."

My favorite non-serious line is "MURDERER!!!" This is when Gollum was having an argument with his other self -- Smeagol VS Gollum. I know it isn't supposed to be funny, but it just cracks me up!

I dont think I remember any particular line from the movie at all. Mind you, I have only seen the film once and I didnt really like it. Infact, having read everything that Tolkien ever wrote, well more or less, I found the films were lacking in many areas, and didnt really capture the essence of what Tolkien had written, or at least as how I interpreted and visualised his work.
