| I have a linksys wireless USB adapter that I'm trying to get to work  | | | |  I have tried to install it with the plug and play. I've tried by installing the CD. When I install it with the CD, on the tray, the wireless icon is gray and is disabled. the wireless router is working because everyone else in this house is wireless. So here is my situation: I am getting the internet from my USB. According to the people who sold me this, the ethernet port doesn't work. I have an A20m IBM laptop. One thing that I did not try is installing the CD for the router. And I have windows 2000.
Can someone give me step-by-step instructions on how to make this work?

| |  If you installed the adapter properly, you should be able to see the adapter's icon if you click Start>Programs. You need to use that icon in connecting to your wifi. If you can't see it there, you need to start the Wireless Configuration of the laptop so that the laptop will manage your wireless usb adapter not its own icon.
