I started a discussion on bathing time, and it seems most mothers commented that we sees drastic change in the time we spend in shower / bath after the arrival of a child. Now (this do happens only few days ago) that my little girl is getting older day by day, I finds even my meal time has reduce to that mere 5 minutes. Sometimes, I even need to eat with one hand while carrying the baby on the other side of my lap. How about you?

OH, eating with one hand whilst holding the little one on another hand, that's usual! And using your feet to do some extra work at the same time! LOL. It became a norm once your baby became clingy to you. I experienced that when my boy was around 4 months onward. I became a person with only one hand as another hand was always carrying him! I learnt to do EVERYthing single handedly. My meal time can be as short as a couple of minutes to as long as an hour! Why? Because I was always distracted by the many antiques of my boy that I eat, stop, attend to him, eat again, stop again and attend to him again. By the time I finished my food, I forgot what I was eating in the first place! So, good luck to you Cynthia. Life is only getting harder from here. LOL!

oh balasri.. I think you should slow down the meal time and enjoy every bits of your wife cooking.. since you are not in a rush (I assume) why not spend more time to compliment her cooking, and I am sure that works better with a carat of diamond..
Next time you sat on the dining table, remember this discussion, and hope it helps you to slow down, and salvage the food and your wife effort..

Hello cwong77,
My son is almost three years old. I have been thinking life will get easier when he grows up. But now, I don't think so.... it is far from getting easier day by day! Now, I don't even have my own meal time. Whenever I eat and if he is around, he will disturb me every minute of my meal time. During meal, I prepare his set of meal, teach him to sit on his chair and he will eat on his own. But every single minute he will come to me, asking this and that. I end up eating and doing stuff that he wants at the same time! Gone are my good meal and 'enjoy your food' time!

When you were attending a toodler then that really makes your meal time be on the guiness world book of records ..hahaha,with a small kids growing up,there are lots and lots of things that we need to reduce becoz most our time will be cut off.
usually i had my meal for 10-15 mins, and when not rushing,30 mins to the max.

Hello cwong this is checkmail and normally it takes less time to eat my meal.My meal is time is really very short as i like to eat it hot and tasty, but sometimes when the meal is of different varieties than it takes some more time.Means when having veg meal it takes hardly anytime time for my meal but when having non-veg meal it takes some more time compared to veg meals.

My time spend on meals is approximately 10 to 20 minutes. I enjoy eating slowly, chewing and tasting the food, enjoying what I eat. Sometimes when I have more free time and more food, I may take up to half an hour to finish the whole meal, especially eating my favourite food. I always find that eating is an enjoyment.

I spend my meal time, between 5 to 15 minutes, to enjoy the food, and eat more food, and to chew it nicely.

Before the arrival of my little princess, I had my meal at least 20 to half an hour. I will sit at the dining and enjoys every bit of the food prepared and savour it to the last bits left on the plate. And before I leave the dining, it will sure end with a cup of water.

When I was single, I really enjoyed my meal alot...takes abt 10-15mins,slowly chew my food and I can say that I m a big eater, easily put on weight too. But once I married with kid,my meal time seem reducing esp when my boy was below 1 yr old, I can't really enjoy my meal as he needs alot of my attention somtimes. As he grows up, I slowly can enjoy my meal again...takes bt 10 mins if really hav a nice n yummy dishes.
