Is Galveston rebuilt enough to enjoy a weekend?

Well after the hurricane came through we heard Galveston wouldn't be tourist ready for like 4 years. Now we heard from several places that it is actually is ready and they need people to come back to get the economy. So has anyone been in the last few months, and has it rebuilt enough to be enjoyable?

I thought I saw on the news that Galveston was opened up for tourism. I don't recall seeing anything about it not being opened!

Well a month ro so after the hurricane they were saying that there wasnt enough surviving building or something, and suggested not to vacation there for awhile. But then we heard different.

The beach's have been busy and yes, it is great that the people are having good times and helping the economy. I have family that has been there , this summer. They said it was so nice to see all the people having a wonderful time.
