My pick would have to be Abraham Lincoln because he got rid of slavery.

First off I have to say, when you are in a Democracy, no one rules the country. They SERVE it. Many of your Presidents did a great service to your country. I do not know of all them, but of the ones I have heard of, and heard of what they have done, I would have to say that Abraham Lincoln is my favorite. Under him, or so I have heard, the United States of America, actually came together(before his term it was the United States "are", and after it was the United States "IS"). Not to mention he freed so many people of slavery and oppression. It took a lot of courage to stand up against that kind of opposition that he faced. Especially for someone that was demoted from Captain to Private in the army, and failed in business twice. Cheers.

Well, I guess if I had to choose between all of the presidents that we have ever had here in these United States, I would say George Washington. He did so much, even when he was just a general in the army. I wonder if it would be better if we made it a requirement that all Presidential candidates must have served in the armed forces, before they could run for President. I know there are some countries that require all citizens to serve in the armed forces. I wished I would have joined when I was younger. I think it would have made me a stronger person today.
