i am controlling my craving for sweet. i don't have any problem with my health. but i do avoid it now cause i am not getting younger any more. quite successful actually. i could control myslef buying any sweets every time i buy groceries. i do buy bread instead or wheat bread to control my hunger. when i was younger i do love to eat sweets and sometimes it is a meal replacement actually.
But now i am happy to be able to discipline my self now. Guess when you are younger you are not so serious in taking care of yourselves and controlling your eating habits.
i am trying to cut out my intake of oily foods and also fatty foods and other meats. hopefully i will be able to do it permanently. i may eat them occasionally but i am planning to stick with my healthy diet.

It had been a few months that i haven't tasted any sweets. I had successfully stop my craving for sweets and candies. But, as for bread and cakes, i still have them occasionally. I think we can't completely stopped having sweet food in our life. You will feel no mood and no energy, if you completely not taking any sweet food. We need to take everything moderately. A healthy diet are consist of taking every food in the food pyramid moderately. Hope you will success...

yeah i mean eating candies and other food that are mostly sugar. but it is alright to eat bread for example with little amount of sugar in it. cause i believe that we need sugar too in our body. i guess it gives us energy. i think it will bad for our health if we don't eat sugar. cause there should be sugar content in our body too. or we may feel too weak to do any thing. but eating fruits will take care of that problem for us.

Yeah, as long as we are able to replenish the amount of sugar that we needed everyday, then it should be fine to our body. Actually, i had also controlled my intake of sugar, that's why i totally didn't take any sweets or candies. I want to take care of my health and my teeth, as well...

yes that is what i am worried about also in too much consumption of sweets
i am taking of my teeth also. i didn't not grow up having beautiful teeth. so i think while i have some set teeth though few lost at the jaw part already. i still have to take care of it. so sweets are no no to me now.

I love all kinds of sweets but since I've been on a diet and lost 25 pound I'm trying not to eat to many sweets.
Every morning I have cookies or cake with my coffee and thats all the sweets I eat for that day.
On sundays I always have ice cream . If I don't stick to this once a day treat I blow up like a balloon again.

wow, i am cutting on ice cream too. but reading your posts i just want to buy ice cream again. any ways, i will just control it. he he. i like to taste ice cream from time to time like a spoon or two. but that's it. i don't want to eat any more a cup of ice cream. so what i do i just ice cream cone when i really want to have a taste of ice cream so in that way i will not have to eat a lot . and there is ice cream in small cups all. i don't know if that is available in your place. what brand of ice cream do you buy in states. cause i only haggen danz as the ice cream mostly in US isn't it. but here we have lots of brands of ice cream to choose from. though not as sweet as the ice cream from haggen danz and not as creamy. haggen danz is so expensive here. like a pint of it will be about $10. that is freaking expensive for us here. cause a pint of local brand ice cream will fetch only about $2 or less. but i want to buy haggen danz one time if i have save enough money to buy it.

i thought haagen danz is what people usually buy in your place. so i guess that is considered an expensive brand not only here but in your place as well. i never thought there are also cheaper brand of ice cream. do they taste better than haagen danz.

holy cow, that's to much for ice cream.
We have lots of different brands here. Haagen Daaz is more expensive then others here too. I usually buy an of brand and I don't like to pay more then $3 for half gallon.
There have some mexican brand at smith and it's only $1 it's very good and I buy it a lot.
The only thing is they only have a couple flavors.

I usually keep a little bag of sweets, like the peppermint patties, in the fridge for when the urge hits me and I have to have something sweet. I have cut way back on sweets b/c of my diabetes though. I did not even get a cake or ice cream for my birthday but it is ok.

i can live without cake and ice creams. but when i was younger i just so crave this kind of food. thankfully i don't feel that urge any more to eat those sweets. anyways, thankfully for lack of money i was not able to buy as often as i want cakes and ice cream. i usually buy them every time we will have some important gathering in our home like some relatives coming over and some visitors that we expect. other than that we just don't usually buy them when we feel or want to out of lack of money.

I love sweets but diabetes runs in my family so I really have to be serious on taking too much of it. And you're right, we are not getting younger. Do you have any activites to prevent youself from eating something sweets?

well i had lots of candies and chocolates bars at home given by my mom. it came from abroad. i just couldn't stop eating. what i did. i put all those chocolate bars on the box. and gave it to my friend. he was happy. but after than he did not want any more chocolate in his life. cause he is afraid of getting diabetes too.
so i just get rid what ever temptation at my home. i make sure i only see healthy food. at least if i get hungry i have no choice but to eat whatever i see at my place.
and by the way, my mom got angry when she learned i gave all those chocolates away. so until now, my mom is hiding from me all the chocolates she brings to our home every time she has her vacation here from abroad. i don't care any ways, about those chocolates. i am more concerned about my health.
out of sight out of mind and out of trouble.

the only diet i can think of was not eating before 6 in the evening and lower the consumption of rice.my tummy is still big. but despite of that, i was able to maintain regular weight because i don't eat in the evening.

Well, I am Diabetic so eating sweets is something I do try to avoid most of the time, unless it is something better for me. But I have been known from time to time to have something sweet. A lot of times it is Chocolate that I will crave as well. But I have gone a week or longer without something sweet. It is hard but you need to keep the Will power and the Want power to do this as well.
