Me and wife had a premature baby, she was born this June 17, 2009. And she was only 32 weeks, she weighs 1.4 kilo and measure 37cm. She stayed at the hospital for 2 weeks and when we brought her home, it became difficult for us. My never cry that much when shes hungry so we just monitor her to see if she will have signs that she is hungry. And when we carry her we are always afraid we might get hurt her or something.

I think that it is very difficult. You are faced with the fact that they may not make it when the child is first born, and they struggle for the time that he/she is in the hospital. Its very scary, and I think that causes you to be overprotective because you see them as being so fragile. You have come so close to losing her, you want to do all you can to make sure she is safe and very well taken care of. I imagine that it can be very hard to let go some and not worry so much about her.

You are, we find it very difficult for us to not to worry that, knowing that she very small and very fragile in looks. We know that shes a healthy baby now, but we just cant help our self to stop worrying.

I think that is a perfectly normal reaction, Im sure with time it will get easier and less stressful. Good luck and congrats!
