| Gift card as part of wedding gift, should one write in the amount somewhere?  | | | |  Bought a $100 gift card from a department store, the amount is not shown anywhere on the card. Later, I requested a slip showing the amount. Should I leave that slip with the card or should I write down the amount somewhere?

| |  I would write it on the back of the card. It can be aquward to get a gift card and be unsure of the amount. The couple may loose the slip but they will not loose the card and it will make it easier to plan what they are going to buy and therefore write the thankyou card sooner if it is on there somewhere.
