What does it take to become an effective endorser? We have seen popular names as top endorsers like Kris Aquino, Manny Pacquiao and Sharon Cuneta. These people are popular that an endorsement would be a whopping million(s). Does one need to be these popular celebrities to become an effective endorser? Well I guess it helps if you are popular. Your followers would be inclined to patronize products that you support. But what about newer faces? I have see an episode of Y-speak where they interviewed new, aspiring commercial models. They say that people now look for newer faces and one who possesses character. With everything that has been said, I believe that one needs to be credible to be an effective endorser. You need to be believable to be an effective endorser.

If you're popular of course you can endorse any products. It would be a great advantage to any company if their endorsers are popular and influential. But, there are also new faces that are not popular but has a good personality. There were some endorsers I knew that they become known endorser first before they became popular..only the progress slowly grows up compared to an endorsers that are already popular and influential...Nice topic..

Thanks for responding. I think it would really help if the endorser uses the product because they could really vouch that the product is really good.

If the endorser is a superstar, meaning he/she have tons of followers or fans.. And those fans may even buy the stuff that their idols were endorsing.. That's the marketing strategy there..

Manny Pacquiao Vitwater - Here is Manny Pacquiao endorsing Vitwater. For me Manny Pacquiao is an effective celebrity endorser because the products he is endorsing are products that you will believe he is using unlike other celebrities who do not seem to use the products they are endorsing. :)
For me, it depends on the product and how it relates to the celebrity endorsing it. For example, Kris Aquino endorses Goldilocks but sometimes I do wonder if she really eats at Goldilocks because knowing Kris Aquino,is a rich woman and is very high atop the social ladder, one will really wonder if she really eats there. I would think that she eats at those high end restaurants. lol!:) As far as Manny Pacquiao goes, I think he is pretty effective as an endorser because he endorses items that can be related to him like Alaxan and Vitwater. We all know that these products are most probably used by him. In conclusion, celebrity product endorsing all depends on how relate-able the product is to the celebrity.:)

I agree with what you mentioned. Sometimes you think if endorsers really use the product. Kris being a high profile personality, you would think twice if she really buys from Goldi....
