|  So, I have driven the same little mazda car forever, and I love him...but with baby #3 on the way, my man says its time to upgrade. He asked me if I wanted a van or a station wagon!! Is it bad that I am vain and don't want either. I want something sexy and sleek. I know I can be shallow, but, I love my children and am a great mom. I just have never been able to embrace that whole 'mom persona', with the super crafts/mini van/soccer practice/music lessons and such. Instead, I play with my kids, teach them the value of good sportsmanship while teaching them how to throw a football. We read books about football QB's to learn about the game, and what made them a great leader. So, is it bad that I don't want a mini van or wagon, that I would be happy with a mazda 3, or a pink hummer??

| |  if you have the cash then let him go for the pink hummer at around $40,000..but at that price you can get a sleek toyota rav4 thats sleek& sexy at half that price,how about a lexus harrier?sexier& powerful,or mitsubishi IO?a hummer is a guzzler! good luck!

| |  I am in the same boat. I DO NOT ever want a van. I would take an SUV though. For me though I will probably end up with the van to be frugal and have the extra money to spend on the kids. Because I am a sucker for the kids. Keeping your identity while being a mom is important. I think that for me anyway it is more about that. I don't want to just be "mom" or so and so's mom. I still want to have my individuality.
So I think if that is the reason you don't want to be a soccer mom or have that mom persona then great. Take time to be you, but if it is to just avoid the stereotype I would rethink it.
My sister in law just got the hummer and LOVES it. I say more power to you.
