| Free computers? Yup... free.  | | | |  I have found that the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation has a program where they take in used computers, install current software then give them away to those unable to afford their own computers.
We have a local agency that oversees the distribution locally... have you heard of the foundation and this part of it specifically?

| |  Oh that's very cool - I was wondering about the Gates and what they're up to these days. Anyways, I'm glad they are sharing the wealth. I hope they're not giving away the crappy ones. I wonder why don't they donate to schools and such? Or do they already, it's just that not a lot of people are aware of this?

| | Nope, they are not the crappy ones. Here in Upstate NY, the foundation's local contact gives away computers from colleges, companies, other places that are moving up; they clean up the hard drives then install current software.
