This weekend I tried to find some restaurant offering exotic food because I want to try some, but when faced with the actual food, I choked hard and realize I'm not yet ready for those exotic food.. but I still want to try some someday.. Do you normally try new dishes or exotic food? How often do you want to try it and where is the best restaurant in your place to try some?

i think you need to know which kind of exotic food you wanna try before actually tasting one. hello, sharlionse! whenever i travel with some friends and we go on a food trip, that's how i decide to try exotic food. it happens maybe once or twice a year and depending on our mood. it helps to eat with friends out of curiousity because you have a common goal. it doesn't really matter whether you end up liking the food or not. the goal is having fun. the next time you wanna try some exotic food, prepare yourself for a new experience. happy mylotting!

Dear Sharlionse, I did try quite a number of exotic food like monkeys, turtle, tortoise etc. Ccertain Chinese Restaurant, they serve turtle, tortoise and certain species of frog meat. They do not term them as padi field frog, they call it padi field 'chicken'. So those who are naif, might order this chicken and eat. They stir fry it with black pepper, quite tasty. I would avoid ordering it, BUT if it is serve, I might eat a piece or two~ Again! Happy myLotting!

For as long as it is clean and it is safe to eat, i always go for exotic foods like snake, snail, big lizards (bayawak), frogs, big ants (hantik), white worms (eunok), and grasshoppers. Some find it so yucky to eat but I am really enjoying those food. My favorite is fried frogs. It taste like chicken. Actually it is more tasty than chicken. Exotic foods are actually healthier than eating red meat such as pork and beef because it has less calories and fats.

I love to try exotic food. And most of the time, the next day I start checking in my cookbooks for something that caught my attention. When I go out to those restaurants, I don´t care if it´s not "elegant" but I always steal a bite from the other people´s dishes. Usually mine is the best because I talk with the maitre before ordering.
