| | What i suggest you is right mouse click on the word document then click open with then point out to the microsoft word icon if u cannot find this is in the list click the option browse from there point it out to the word document. If not the other option that is available is right click the word document then go to properties there u can see an rectangle box as "change" click on it if you find word document option over there then click on it and press ok. Can you try this: Change the file names to .doc then open an instance of MS Word, then click Open from File menu, navigate to your .doc files and open them from there (what I want to mean is that don't open .doc files by double clicking).
