Just had this on the news a while ago, where it is reported that French President Nicolas Sarkozy was rushed to a Paris hospital by air ambulance after collapsing while jogging with his bodyguards in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles. There is no further news of his condition and cause of his collapse. And, the news media is waiting for the test results to be revealed. However, French media are reporting that Mr Sarkozy had suffered a vagal nerve attack, adding that it could involve a brief loss of consciousness and change in the heart rate. The vagal nerve is a major nerve that runs from the abdomen to the brain and controls many functions. This is the second time in two years that the allegedly known fitness fanatic, who's nicknamed 'Speedy Sarko', has been at the centre of a medical emergency. On October 21 2007 staff at the Val-de-Grace treated him for a high fever and a throat abscess. The president underwent a surgery to free his throat of infected material, was administered antibiotics through a catheter, and then discharged. I just hoped that he will recover soon.
