1. BlueGoblin (1385) | 5 months ago | Probably right. I think Getzlaf belongs up there. He's won a cup and is getting better each year. To be honest, I'd rather have him on my team over Kovalchuk. Iginla

BlueGoblin (1385) | 5 months ago | I meant to delete the part about Iginla. I lost my train of thought and forgot what I wanted to say about him. Anyway, he definitely deserves a top 7 spot in my opinion.

2. sarahruthbeth22 (10375) | 5 months ago | Bless you,you have Ovie first! As you can tell I love The Caps. And you have the "kids",Dats and Zetterberg. The Red Wings are my team too. I also root for the Flames too.Iginla is good.He has the toughness like Ovie.I can't add anyone to your list.Back in the day,Stevie Y and Sakic and,Federov would be on this list.

sarahruthbeth22 (10375) | 5 months ago | I call Dats and Zetterberg kids because of Hull. when he was on their line,he called the line two kids and an old goat.the nickname stuck with me.In fact I used to kid if I were to have twin boys one middle name would be Datschuk and the other Zetterberg.

3. ERich79 (339) | 5 months ago | Your list definantly has the best fowards in the NHL. But I have to differ with your arrangement of the players. The number one forward in the league is because he is really talented. The second should be Crosby because he won his Stanley Cup and is a great goal scorer. Malkin is the 3rd best because he is a great player in the playoffs. The fourth best is Datsyuk because I am a detroit fan and I have seen him play a lot and he is very entertaing to watch. Zetterberg is 5th and sometimes he can be better than Datsyuk just like last year in the playoffs but Datsyuk is overall better player than Zetterberg. 6th is Kovalchuk and 7th is Iginla but these players are great but you haven't heard much of them like past years when Iginla scored all those points that one year.

| den1545 (34) | 4 months ago | Crosby is average goal scorer compare to Ovechkin,Kovalchuk,Heatley,Iginla etc.He never had a 40-goal season.He's great playmaker not goal scorer.

4. tjhtommyj (178) | 3 months ago | I think it's extremely difficult to limit this to just 7 forwards. You could easily make a case for Getzlaf, Carter, Hossa, Thornton, Nash, and Parise to be considered amongst the elite forwards and you could even make a case for Marian Gaborik. Playing in a defensive system he certainly has the defensive game down and he's clearly one of the most talented offensive players in the game. He just needs to be healthy long enough to put up the 100 plus point seasons and 50 + goal seasons. As much as you'd want to include these guys and others, there's nobody on the list you'd feel totally comfortable removing either. I agree with you in that Ovechkin and Malkin need to be one/two.
