How do you react when you see a streak of grey hair on your head?

I have seen people generally feeling very embarrassed when they see greying of their hairs. Very few are able to take it casually. Some of them just cannot digest the fact that they are growing old. Some feel it is a sign of wisdom and maturity.
If it was in your case what would the reaction have been?
Have you already undergone this phase of life?

Well, luckily I have only ever seen one or two gray hairs in my head -- that I have noticed, anyway. I am getting older and am sure in a few years they will become more apparent, and I am not looking forward to it. I will be 30 in a few months and am not looking forward to that, either.
Maybe I will start dying my hair in a few years to hide the gray when they start to pop up more and more, but I am not sure yet. I will have to wait and see.
It might be a little embarrassing I suppose, but it's a part of life, so I won't be alone when I get more grays... That's a little comforting.

This is an interesting question. I am twenty six years old; I can't take it as a symbol of wisdom and maturity at this age. I recently saw a white hair on my head and it made me very upset. I felt that I am loosing the youth age and becoming mature or old. I don't want it now. I want to be a teenager and be always in that age.

i'm pretty young - young enough to not worry about grey hair for a while. But if i do see a streak of grey hair then i'm sure to yell out - "Oh! My GOD!!!!!"
I know i'm going to ponder about it for a few days or even moths and then slowly comfort myself that my hair is grey becuse i'm turning wise - LOL ;)

Good at last for realizing, in fact there is nothing to worry at the first instance, its all in the game of life, so be prepared to face it. Thanks for responding. Have a good day.

I haven't had any grey or white hairs yet. I am not sure how I will react when I do get some grey or white hairs, and haven't really thought too much about it as I am still young.
But I don't think it neccessarily always affects just the more mature person though. I think it is dependent on your genetics when you start getting them, or other environmental conditions such as stress. I know someone in their 20s who has a lot of white hairs. He is convinced it is due to stress from work.
For older people I think it looks more natural that they do have some grey or white hairs. It is just part of growing older, and like you say it can show maturity and wisdom. I see a lot of older ladies who try to dye their hair when it is completely white and it just doesn't look right. But for younger people I can see how having a few white or grey hairs might cause some embarassment.
