Would Travel If You Can Save $500-$2000 For A All Inclusive Vacation?  

I love traveling, however I am not a fan of all inclusive vacations, and I realize I might be different from most people. I like getting out where the locals comes and learn about their cultures and food experience. I am not a fan of the highclass hotels either - if I spend money on vacations I want to experience the scenery, food cultures and what not.

I do save all the money I earn online and travel with that at least once a year. I dont like all inclusive vacations though. I prefer to feel free to go where I wish, dine what I want and be by myself.
I own a timeshare in Aruba and I have traded that week many times to go elsewhere. But I have never chosen an all inclusive place.
I don´t travel for less than a week and would prefer to travel for two weeks. I don´t think it´s worth the flight and all that for a couple of days.
Two years ago, I traded my resort for an apartment in a hotel in Camboriu, Brasil. It was awesome! I went with a niece and we met a brasilian artisan (a real angel) who took us everywhere and showd us the true Brasil.

I really love traveling and would say that it is my top hobby. I have been to 52 different countries. I am an independent traveler. Typically I fly to a gateway and then travel on local transport to at least five different places within a particular region. I might stay in five or more locally owned guest houses. Sometimes I get the chance to stay in unusual accommodation like a tree house is my favorite. I haven't ever been on an all inclusive vacation. I don't like such trips because the money spent by the tourists often leaves that country. It ends up overseas often enough. The tourists staying in all inclusive resorts usually ignore the local community. The way I travel benefits the local businesses and I get to meet the culture. I like exploring and having a great adventure rather than relaxing in luxury surroundings. I save up for a trip and buy the flight when I have enough money. Happy traveling.
