I think we shouldn't be hasty in passing judgements. His performance will speak for him. It was Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to sign him and he will take responsibility for that decision.
I was surprised to hear of this move but we'll just have to wait and see how Owen does.

Sir Alex Ferguson has failed to hold his last season's team as Cristiano Ronaldo and CArlos Tevez has left MANCHESTER UNITED keeping to vacant space to fill. Sir Alex couldn't find ideal replacement for them. He is still waiting for Frank Ribery who may be one of the best replacement for Ronaldo. Ferguson also failed to sign any high profile player. Somehow he met Michael Owen and offered him a contract which was accepted. At the end of season we can analyse whether signing Michael Owen to Manchester was correct or not. If Owen can bring out his best and if he can just reach in that form which he showed in the time 2001-2004, no body can stop Owen from scoring goals. He is always talented but his injury wasted his natural game and also destroyed his claimings

I must admit, I was a little surprised when I read that Owen had signed for MU but it wasn't too difficult for me to digest. Obviously, many United fans felt offended that an ex-scouser was signed but I believe it was smart business. He was bought for free, so even if he fails, we can sell him for a price. Either way its profit for the club. I also believe it was the right move considering the inflated price tags put on some of the star players linked with a move to Old Traford. On his performance front, he should be able to do better here. I mean, the trining and medical staff at United are way better than those at Newcastle.

I worry about his injuries but he had a good statistic to make a score.

Although I am not a fan of Michael Owen I feel that his signing could be a great bit of business for United. As a free agent he did not cost us anything to sign and he does not have to go out and be top scorer for us. I would be happy if he had double figures and he is a poacher so he is capable of scoring us some important goals this season if he stays free of injuries.
