It has been three weeks since my horse Major was put down and already some people have a new horse in mind for me! I didn't say I wasn't ready for a new horse when my friend told me Rhapsody would be mine someday! Rhapsody is a 4 year old Paint/Percheron cross mare and the owner isn't around to ride much and won't be for awhile because of some surgery she just had! She just bought a new horse and her husband can't ride him for a while either thanks to being thrown from the new horse and breaking some ribs! Rhapsody is a nice horse and if is was 1 year or 2 for now I would be interested! I'm not ready and I'd like to pay off my vet bil before a new horse comes in my life! It is nice people are thinking about me but it is way to soon!

wow! Paint/Percheron - she must be HUGE! is she comfortable to ride?
I agree, I'm not sure I'd be ready, less than a month later, for a new horse - gosh, they really are pushing it...
of course, the horse may not be willing to sell her any time soon either -

This mare Rhapsody is about 16 hands and probaly around 1,400 to 1,500 lbs. I never have ridden her but I hear she's comfortable to ride!

Hi there, I really sorry to ehar about your loss. It seems to be a really bad year this year for horses. Mnay of my moms freinds have lost a horse this year and as well as losing one herself and my sister lost her gelding too. Both due to colic. The vets bills are quite hard to do after too when dealing wiht the pain. I know that If I had lost my mare, whom I have had for 9 years now that I wouldnt wnat to be looking into getting a new horse for about a year or so. Just dont rush things and let people know that. Good luck and feel better.

Thanks for the response! i am not rushing into another horse! The nmare Rhapsody could be up for lease but I don't want to do that! I am not planning on riding alot right now! I did ride Rhapsopdy twice and I had another boarder tell me I could ride her Arab mare! Yikes! To top this off I can also ride the owner of the stable's horse! She owns a Chestnut Paint/Belgian mare! I know people are trying to be nice but they are going overboard! Anyway I want to at least wait 2 years before I get another horse! Happy Mylotting!
