Hi myLotters, as you all may know, Miss Universe is the oldest beauty pageat currently runing, which they said competes 3 most important thing of a woman, beauty, brain and behavior. Indonesia, my country is an Asian country which still hold moral and religious value highly, and for some of us, Miss Universe is not about brain but more about beauty. We just send our delegate for the first time in 2005, and there was a huge debate and uproar about this. Our delegate and the foundation was protested everywhere because of the swimsuit competition and it really makes our delegate stressful. My opinion about the competition is, well for most part it is more about beauty, although I don't know if there is any interviews or discussion panel preshow. But if our country won the title or at least crack the top 15, as Indonesian I just feel proud my delegate can stood there among other countries. An the beauty pageant itself has been a subject of controversy among the feminist group. So, what's your view? Do you feel Miss Universe as a positive competition for your country or just a waste of money and not having a positive impact? Do you wish beauty pageant has a different format or added some particular parts in it? Is it also spark controversy in your country? Share your opinion here!
