Does anyone know how to get college money? Really Urgent!! | | | | Hello All Mylotters! I was just filling out my fafsa papers and it told me the amount that I would get for my tuition when I start college in September. I was tickled at the amount, don't get me wrong, but I am worried to death about the remainder of the bill. I am planning on going for 2-4 years to get my associates FULL TIME. I got to talking to a friend of mine and she said that there are other places out there that give you "grants" that you never have to pay back, just like the pell grant. I qualified for the Pell and that's hunky dory, but what else am I going to do? Do any of you know where to look for the other college money help out there? I have googled financial assistance and all I keep getting is ads for Quick Cash schemes or Payday advances. I need to get the ball rolling so my kids aren't scraping by either. Any help will be so appreciated. Thank you in advance! | | | | | | | | | | Top 2011 Online Grants Grant funding may be available - Go Back to School! www.ClassesUSA.com

| | Ok here is the deal that you fill out the FAFSA forms, then if you are registered at a school you call the financial aid office and ask them what paperwork you need to submit. You may qualify but you have to submit proof of what you quoted in your paperwork. If you have done all of that then you need to register full time to qualify for your grant. Find out when the money will be distributed from your school. I hope that you are going to a college not one of these institutes that give you a promise of graduating within a certain time because you won't see any money. I would not apply for loans because the grants should get you through a semester. I live in California so after serving a full year with good grades I qualified for a CalGrant. The Cal Grant is given once a semester. Depending on how much your need or qualifications varies. I know how you feel because I did my FAFSA at the beginning of the year, I just took my financial paperwork to the college in late June and I am still waiting to find out how much I will get. The school gives out the award letter. I try to keep on top of things because one screw up and you are on a waiting list.... | | | | | | | peedielyn (895)

| | Thank you for responding. I did do my FAFSA online and it said that I would get over $5,000...but is that for a quarter or the whole year, or tuition altogether. I go Monday for my placement testing and yes it is a college. I know a girl that went to a school that is like a community college thing and she gets about 1500 per year. I am just worried that I won't be able to take care of the kids. People here in Ohio tell me that "welfare" can help pay for stuff, but what? I am so confused and usually, I am the smart one LOL. Thanks again for the response. It helped out bunches! | | | | | | | Top 2011 Online Grants Grant funding may be available - Go Back to School! www.ClassesUSA.com | add comment | | | |

| | Thank you for the help! I am going to try the fastweb as soon as I get off of here. I go for my testing on Monday and then to my orientation. Hopefully they can steer me in the right direction. This is all new to me. Thanks again and Happy Mylotting! | | | | | | | Private Student Loans Now Get up to $130,000 in student loans. | | the school should be able to help you. Depending on your age and stuff you may be eligible for title iv. I have it. You are pretty much automatically accepted, or it is easier to be accepted if: You're over 24, or married, or have children. I'm none of those, but fortunately I still got it, and I do not have to start paying until 6 months after I am done with school (I can go all the way up to doctorate and still not have to pay yet), and then there is no interest either, so what I pay back is exactly what it cost. Hopefully this helps, try to talk to someone at the school, which one will you be attending? | | | | | | | peedielyn (895)

| | I will say something about that. I didn't know there was such a thing. I am a single mom of 4 and I am 31 years old, so maybe that will help. I am attending Rhodes State College in Lima, Ohio. It's a branch off of the Lima Ohio State campus! Thanks for the advise. Wish me luck! | | | | | | | Business.com Business.com:Sm. Business Grants. | | I would suggest seeing if you qualify for any scholarships that are specific to your school. Then, scholarship search engines are the next best step. If you can't be awarded any money, then you might have to get a job and you may need to see if you school's Bursar office have installment payments plans. I'm in the same boat as you, full time and looking to pay for the remaining balance but I will probably just try to find some way to fit work into m schedule. Good luck. | | | | | | | | | | Grants Earn College Degree Online to Elevate your Career. Grant Options. UniversityCollegeSearch.info/Grant | add comment | | | |

| | I dont qualify for any grants with the fasfa any more but I still qualify for loans that cover school expenses. I know getting a loan is not ideal, but the interest rates are low, and you dont have to pay them back till 6 months after graduation. Also, FastWeb.com is a great site for scholarships. They give out lots of scholarships (free money you dont have to pay back). All you have to do if make a profile, and they will send you scholarship applications that match your profile. many of the matches include applications where you have to write an essay. http://www.fastweb.com/co... I havent used this website for scholarships, but it might be worth checking out. http://www.scholarships.com/ Also, lots of businesses give away scholarships, so just keep your eyes open. | | | | | | | | | | Student Grants Online Top Scholarships And Grants Updated Daily, Get Money For School Easily AllStudentLoan.org/Grants | add comment | | | |
