I mourn for the death of my President (Cory Aquino of the Philippines)  

I do share your sentiments and the sentiments of all the Filipinos. I somehow felt that I have lost a mother. I shed a tear every time I see her on TV. I never thought that her passing would made an impact this much for me especially. 1983, I together with my classmates waited for hours along España just to get a glimpse of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino. We attended the campaign when she ran for President in the snap election. It is really so sad the she is not with us anymore. The least that we can do now is to continue her legacy. May you rest in peace, Our President.

She's one of my personal heroes -- she and her husband, Ninoy. She's a paragon of faith and courage. I am deeply grateful for what she has done for our country and for generations of Filipinos to come. She represents the best in Filipinos. She will be sorely missed.

I am also in grief. I think that goes to every Filipino who knows that God truly loves us and gave us a mother for a leader. Cory had been our miracle. She bore the problems on her shoulders so that we will not be so downtrodden. Let us be thankful now for the gift of Cory.

Quite true. But I mourn more for dead children than an old woman who died of cancer.

To me, she is never a loss. Her cause must be carried on by new blood, yet I fail to see some that can be up to the task.

This may sound contradictory, but true. Her heroism has passed and many of her fights have gone to history. Look at our current government and where her former -and that is former- enemies are.

What I mourn is not her but her cause. Her pass is but natural, something a person of her status may rarely have.

She is no saint but a woman who, like others, did what she can for her family - her blood family and us Filipinos. One should see her as a person. Not as some symbol of etc. that hyperbole the true Cory.

A fortnight ago, I saw on TV how a five year old girl cried. A reporter asked why and she said she is sad because the one who gave us democracy has died.

A five year old having such an adult comment? oh, please. What happened then wasn't her time. She wasn't even born yet. She's in Arroyo's administration, something far different from Cory's time.
